I've not been doing very well this year have I? It seems that each time I'm certain I can get back to it, something pops up.

I can let you know that I've been working on plot points and character development for book 2 of The Empowered Series and it's going to be great. I love this world, I love the whole gang. It's not going to be an easy road for them, they're exhausted and worn from their time in Running and they're about to be hit with more stumbling blocks to happiness.

The greatest people in civilisation have always had a hard road to fight.

Life is complicated and busy

Ok. So.

For the past month I have been much too quiet and I apologise. It has been filled with loss and stress.

My darling beloved other half has taken precedence over all other things. His family home burned to the ground, and his grandfather is gravely ill. We hastily uprooted ourselves, drove 500 kilometres, and are now basically living in my wonderful grandmothers home until things settle.

As you've probably noticed, I released the ebook of Running anyway.

Everything was ready, I just had to click a button. I would have put it off if not for the support of family, who insisted that I publish immediately. My Mother-In-Law would not accept that her home burning down could delay the long awaited release. So I did.

It has been hard to focus on marketing and promotion, and honestly I have barely thought of doing book related things. But that time is over.

I promised the wonderful Katie Hayoz a review of Untethered, which is sitting at home. I will be re-writing it this week.

I promised the amazing Anastasia Pergakis a review, and her interview has been sitting here unpublished. I will publish it later today for Writer Wednesday.

I'm back ladies and gentlemen.

Hi Guys.

Please bear with me.

My In-Law's family home burnt to the ground in a bush fire last week.

We frantically packed and made the 5 hour drive to meet up with the family, and have been dealing with that since.

The review I was to post on Wednesday is on the laptop that I stupidly left at home.

The giveaway was a success and I will do my best to work out winners and do the finishing touches to send you the ebook. It's all a bit messy and awful right now, and things like this are slipping.

I'll get things done as soon as I can manage.

Heroes and Villains Blog Hop

Alright! Today marks the beginning of the Heroes and Villains Blog Hop!

I love to talk about heroes and villains. I think we all have our own pet hates when it comes to the idea of a hero character or a villain. Personally, I find many to be too one dimensional.

The world rarely spits out a purely heroic or purely villainous person. I hesitate to say that it NEVER does, but on the whole we live in a world filled with people who fit into the grey area in between. I find it difficult to believe that any fantasy world - other than a PURELY fantasy based world in which there is no realism - could realistically function without addressing the hero in the villain, and the villain in the hero.

Writer Wednesday: Interview with Katie Hayoz, author of Untethered

Happy Writer Wednesday!

Today I have an interview with author Katie Hayoz. We talked about her YA novel Untethered. This novel was a finalist in the Mslexia children's/YA novel competition! It is available in ebook format now, and will be available in paperback tomorrow!

Sylvie isn’t comfortable in her own skin.  In fact, there are times she can’t even manage to stay inside it.  But if there is one thing she’s sure of, it’s her love for Kevin Phillips. She’s willing to stake everything on it –her family, her friends, and possibly her soul.
Sixteen-year-old Sylvie has been best friends with Cassie forever.  But everything is turned around when the boy Sylvie’s loved since fifth grade falls for Cassie. Devastated, Sylvie intends to get Kevin by any means possible, even if it involves treachery, deceit, and the dark side of astral projection. She is positive her plans will give her what she wants, but she doesn’t count on it all spiraling out of control.
Finalist in the Mslexia children’s/YA novel competition.

Writer Wednesday: Interview with A.B. Shepherd - Lifeboat

Welcome Lovelies!

This week for Writer Wednesday I interviewed my dear friend A.B. Shepherd. Her latest novel Lifeboat is a Sci-Fi mystery that I'll be reviewing next week!

Q. Your upcoming book Lifeboat will be released on the 1st of May this year, tell us a little about your thoughts while writing the book.
A. Lifeboat is not the book I sat down to write. I thought I was writing a book about a woman who becomes a UFO Hunter and has lots of UFO related adventures, sort of inspired by the TV series UFO Chasers. Once I started writing Cass, though, that was not her story. She took over the book. Lifeboat is the story of her life, her experiences, and she felt it needed to be told.

Next Week's News

The past two weeks have not been conducive to writing or blogging.

With a memorial this Friday, I thought I'd spare you my incoherent ramblings for the rest of this week. I do have some good news though!

Beginning next week, I will start Writer Wednesdays on the blog.

You can look forward to reviews, interviews, cover and blurb reveals each Wednesday and hopefully we can share some love with other writers, and get your eye on some interesting reading!
